Since 2012, Markus and Frank—legends of the underground from KURT, TEN VOLT SHOCK and MAULGRUPPE—have channeled decades of raw energy and creativity into their duo YASS. With a sound that reimagines KRAFTWERK’s precision and hypnotic mechanical monotony through the lens of noise, distortion, and relentless rhythm, YASS delivers a visceral fusion of Post-Punk, Noise, Kraut and irresistibly pulsing Synth loops. Now, YASS is back with their third LP „Feel Safe“ to be released in June 2025 on Crazysane Records—a highly anticipated evolution of their unique sonic universe.
No band has ever sounded like this before… Yass are beyond any reference! – Ox Fanzine
Punk-Noise-Cyber-Indie-Rock barely scratches the surface. YASS is a trip—wild, mind-bending, and utterly one-of-a-kind. – True Trash Fanzine
Energetic noise-rock that’s not only highly entertaining but also incredibly danceable! – Polytox
Jens Rachut about YASS:
The birth of whale songs that whimsically skim over the ice desert, fleeing from a hurricane and a box full of sounds and noises. She wears headphones to protect herself from the cold but notices that everything turns into warmth. And for this mixture, there is a year of joy in the driving guitar noise and the buzzing escape sounds from one’s own roughness.
Tobert (TURBOSTAAT) about YASS:
Yass prove with “Feel Safe” the possibility of parallel existence from yesterday to tomorrow in musical form: the danceable version of the Terminator 2 soundtrack aesthetically positioned somewhere between Alien 1 and Blade Runner 2049. In other words: this is tomorrow’s noise rock played in the present straight from Edward Furlong’s Walkman.Skynet anxiety made of synth loops and those eternally awesome alien guitars over beats by members of Kurt Ten Volt Shock and Maulgruppe. For fans of Trans Am’s “Red Line” and Chrome Hoof’s “Pre-Emptive…” – Kraftwerk as an amphetamine reptile but on battery acid instead of acid.
